Position Summary
The Clinical Hospital Pharmacist is responsible for all clinical pharmacy activities within the pharmacy and wards Hospital. The incumbent will have accountability for the legal responsibilities required of a hospital pharmacist and compliance of the health service with NSW Health
The clinical pharmacist facilitates supports and oversees the provision of pharmacy services at all health services and facilities in the Cluster and reports to the Cluster Executive, thorough the Director of Medical Services, on all matters pertaining to the pharmacopoeia quality of pharmacy services and medication safety as it affects these services and facilities.
Principal Responsibilities
* Providing appropriate advice, information, education and training on pharmacy and pharmaceutical matters including new drugs, drug interactions, and developments in the science of pharmacology and therapeutics and clinical pharmacy best-practice to clinical staff, clinical support staff and management as required
* Coordination of and assisting with the compilation of a suitable Pharmacopoeia/Drug formulary.
* Participation in organisational learning in clinical pharmacy by undertaking appropriate research and contributing to the knowledge base.
* Keeping the hospital informed in regard to Comply with Child Protection and Domestic Violence policies & procedures and attend mandatory training
* Undertake reasonable travel in accordance with the duties of this position
