Job Description
We are looking for a Qualified Occupational Therapist with HPC registration and Stroke/Neuro experience to work in a 12 month fixed term band 7 position.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To provide a highly specialised client centered occupational therapy service to stroke patients (aged 16 or over) in hospital, and in their homes and other community settings. This includes clients who present with highly complex physical, cognitive, psycho-social and housing needs as a result of their stroke and any other pre-existing medical conditions
To work as an autonomous practitioner in managing a highly complex clinical caseload. To apply highly specialist knowledge and skills in relation to occupational therapy in the field of stroke/ neurology to the assessment of the needs of this client group. From the assessment, to formulate a diagnosis and treatment plan designed to reduce the impact of disability
To manage a defined caseload of highly complex cases independently, evidencing high level problem solving and clinical reasoning skills in line with evidence based/ client centred principles
To take a lead role in the supervision, teaching and appraisal of junior occupational therapists, assistants, students and other members of the multidisciplinary team
To participate in the planning, development and evaluation of the Occupational Therapy Service for Adults and to contribute to the maintenance and development of the Trust’s Occupational Therapy Service, taking a lead for some specific projects.
The salary for this position is £49k
