Job Description
Our client is the public health system only 130 km from Melbourne that services a population of around 27,000 based in the principal town of 7,000. It is an integrated health service providing a range of acute, sub-acute, ancillary medical, aged and ambulatory care services. The 54 bed hospital is fully equipped to offer a broad range of specialist medical, surgical and obstetric services including orthopaedics, ophthalmology, gynaecology, paediatrics, urology and rehabilitation. Aged residential services are provided in three 30 bed homes, plus community services.
This service does not currently have a Geriatrician, but are looking for you if you are well experienced in this field and keen to contribute to the development of the Geriatric and Rehabilitation services. This is a brilliant opportunity for you to contribute in a really meaningful way to the service whilst growing your own professional capacities. You will work closely with the Executive Officer and local referring GPs and suitable professional development and support will be provided for you.

At only a 90 min (mostly freeway) drive to Melbourne this location gives you proximity to the state capital, yet is easy to live in with its unique coastline lined with swimming beaches and rugged escarpments, fishing, diving, boating are all major pastimes and beautiful green hinterland. Along the seafront are quaint fishing villages and holiday hamlets which bustle during warmer months and exude an away-from-it-all ambience at other times. The main industries include tourism and agriculture along with boutique wineries and some of the best small food producers in Australia.
