Job Description
There are not many opportunities for Psychiatrists to join a capital city service, but over the next months there are a few changes expected, so now is the right time for you to join this service as a Psychiatrist or Senior Consultant Psychiatrist. If you have a preference for working as a generalist, or with inpatient, outpatient, emergency or consultation liaison duties including co-morbidity assessment, you choose.
This service provides Mental Health Services for a city and regional population of about half a million and is a major teaching service of the Australian National University (ANU) Medical School with well-developed undergraduate and postgraduate teaching programs and a state-of-the-art medical library. There are excellent opportunities for collaborative research and you will participate in teaching inhouse, in addition an appointment may involve service provision in other complimentary locations.
Located in a beautiful city with outstanding amenities and excellent housing, educational and leisure opportunities, plus an international airport, this city is not only great in itself but is only 3 hrs drive to surf coast, Sydney and Australia's best ski fields.
Ideally you will have Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists, however other post graduate qualifications and experience will be considered.
