Job Description
This is your ideal opportunity if you want to earn are looking to take the step into a more independent role, without having to already have advanced or specialist qualifications. This is a 12 month appointment whilst the owner of the practice takes additional training. He will remain as a resource and support for you, along with a very experienced Practice Manager and team.
You will enjoy the generous salary package Queensland Health is renowned for PLUS earn 50% of all your gross earnings through the private General Practice. A 2 year old house is supplied plus of course car and phone.
You will work three weeks on one week off, and share duties with one other permanent doctor, plus relief from regional rotating doctors and locums. There is plenty of skilled nursing support and electronic record keeping to ensure that you focus on what you do best in both the clinic and the hospital setting. Senior Rural Specialists are available as additional support and, if you are interested, there is strong encouragement and practical assistance to continue your medical education.
Based in a town of 1300 you will be one of two doctors who act as General Practitioners for the region, plus have patients in the local hosptial and local nursing home. The practice is about to commence building in a new location, spending $500,000 ready to be opened at the end of 2010.
This town is friendly and welcoming for newcomers, and enjoys a sub-tropical and sub-humid climate with rainfall tending to be more concentrated in the months from October to March. Frosts occur throughtout the region, mainly in June to August. There is a diverse range of agriculture, plenty of fresh water, fishing, bush walking, camping for those times when you are not working, the ideal to get out and enjoy the spectacular local region.
