The Hospital
This hospital forms part of Northern Sydney Health, which operates under one executive management team and is an affiliated teaching hospital of the University of Sydney. Northern Sydney Health employ over 800 staff and provide healthcare services to over 110,000 local residents. The Hospital has 217 beds (adjusted seasonally) and is set on the edge of Sydney Harbour National Park.
We are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified Clinical Director and/or Staff Specialist who has obtained FRANZCP. You will be an experienced clinician in an acute and community setting with managerial capability.
The Mental Health Service comprises of a 30 bed inpatient unit (10 psychogeriatricians / and 20 adults) and several community clinics with a multidisciplinary staff of 120.
Responsibilities will include leading the improvement of clinical governance, standards and practices for clinical staff across the hospital and community services. It is essential that you have experience in liaising with GP’s, consumers and carers and have an understanding of rehabilitation and case management models.
An interest in research, teaching and supervision is also highly desirable. A conjoint academic appointment is on offer which will be commensurate with your qualifications and experience to date.

There are many bicycle and roller skating paths available; and the natural coastline provides the opportunity for parasailing, surfing, sailing, scuba diving and fishing. National parks and beautiful walks are on the door step of this beautiful Sydney suburb!

Essential Criteria
All applicants must have undertaken at least 12 months paid work (not externship or clinical attachment/ observership) in one of these regions: Australia, NZ, UK, Ireland, Western Europe, Canada, USA or South Africa.
As well, unless you are a native English speaker, all applicants must have completed IELTS to the level of 7 in all academic modules.
