Job Description

Reporting to the Manager, duties and responsibilities include:
*Tractor operations- cultivation, planting and general farming.
*Spraying fallows and crops for weeds and pests.
*Harvesting of crops
*Storage and handling of grain
*Maintenance and repair of farm equipment
*Recording information on operations and harvesting
*Livestock handling
*Fencing

The successful applicant must possess the following:
*Demonstrated knowledge and experience with minimum tillage and GPS assisted farming experiences
*Experience in operating and maintaining a variety of farming machinery including tractors, headers and spraying equipment
*Good mechanical knowledge
*Knowledge of crop production- wheat, barley, chickpeas etc.
*Knowledge of herbicides and pesticides
*Able to undertake manual and heavy work.
*Handle animals with confidence and patience.
*Able to work long hours, outdoors and in all kinds of weather conditions
*Hold a current drivers licence
* Preferably hold a current Chemical accreditation

An immediate start is available for a person who has an enthusiastic, hard working attitude and can demonstrate the ability to show initiative and work unsupervised while being part of a team that demands an excellent level of communication.

Air-conditioned, unfurnished accommodation is available. The salary will be dependant on the skills and abilities of the successful applicant.
